Coaching from the Great Dale Syverson!

On Saturday, Verdugo Hills Chorus was fortunate to spend "A Wonderful Day" being coached by the legendary Dale Syverson! Dale has twice been a Queen of Harmony in her own right and is the Master 700 Director of Rich-Tone Chorus, our 2022 Sweet Adelines International Chorus Champions! Indeed, Dale is a SIX-time-International-gold-medal-winning chorus director! She has more than 50 years' experience in training and directing through Sweet Adelines, joining as a child and becoming Rich-Tone's director in 1976.

VHC Goes to the Dodger Game!

Verdugo Hills Chorus has MANY true blue Dodger Fans among its ranks! So, we spent a fun evening out at the Dodger Game together. And, yes, we sang the National Anthem in four-part harmony!

VHC IS TURNING 70!

Chartered as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International way back in 1954, Verdugo Hills Chorus is turning 70 years old this year! Our chapter has a storied history, with lots of laughter and tears, and winning many championships along the way....

Very Successful A Cappella Scholarship Festival!

We were thrilled with the amazing performances of 15 middle and high school choruses last Saturday, April 27th, at the A Cappella Scholarship Festival (ACSF)! Through the generosity of the John C. Hench Foundation, these fifteen schools earned a collective $87,500 in scholarship cash awards that will provide on-going support for music education in their schools and our community.

Verdugo Hills Chorus will host the 18^th annual A Cappella Scholarship Festival on April 27, 2024 at Glendale High School, John Wayne Performing Arts Center.

Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm. Tickets at door - $5.00

Join Us for Friends & Family Night!

Join Verdugo Hills Chorus on Wednesday, March 20th, as we preview our regional competition package for our families and friends. There will be music and refreshments--and the laughter is guaranteed! It is our way of thanking you for all your support.

8:00 pm at Carlson Hall, 130 N. Kenwood Street, in Glendale. Visitors are also always welcome! We'd love to see you there!

Wonderful Weekend Coaching Session with Lisa Greenough!

We spent a truly delightful weekend being coached by the incomparable Lisa Greenough! Lisa is an accredited Visual Communication judge for Sweet Adelines International and is the Master Director of the Gateway Chorus of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She spent the weekend helping us to be more inventive with the choreography for our contest up-tune and with increasing the expressiveness of our ballad. Lisa's great physicality and wonderful sense of humor, both put us through our paces throughout the weekend, but also kept us laughing--the very best kind of learning!

VHC Celebrates 12 Years with Director Tammy Ragsdale

This week, we were delighted to celebrate the 12th anniversary of Tammy Ragsdale's becoming our director! We got so lucky the day Tammy agreed to become our director. We have learned and grown so much under her leadership and we will be forever grateful to her for all she has given us.

Tammy said of the occasion: "12 years! How is that possible? This has been the most amazing 12 years of my life. I got hired to guide a chorus I’d admired since I was 18 years old.
