This week, we were delighted to celebrate the 12th anniversary of Tammy Ragsdale's becoming our director! 
We got so lucky the day Tammy agreed to become our director. We have learned and grown so much under her leadership and we will be forever grateful to her for all she has given us.

On November 2nd, Verdugo Hills Chorus was pleased, proud, and humbled to be able to compete on the International stage at the 2023 Sweet Adelines International Chorus Competition. We came into the contest ranked (tied for) 26th in the world and we were very pleased that we placed 22nd overall in the contest. (In our last International contest in 2016, we placed 28th.) We had each others' backs and we sang our plan and we improved significantly over our last outing--and we had great fun while we were doing it!

Verdugo Hills Chorus has wrapped up its many months of preparation for participation in the 2023 Sweet Adelines International Chorus Competition. This year, the competition is being held in Louisville, Kentucky, and so we're all very excited as we start packing for our journey to "Run for the Roses" in the home of the Kentucky Derby.
On Wednesday, October 25th, we held a "friends and family" night as our final dress rehearsal before we go. It was so much fun! There were many tears of JOY!!
We are so grateful to all of our coaches, friends, and family members who have supported us throughout this wonderful odyssey!

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, Verdugo Hills Chorus was happy to turn out in force to participate in the PanCan Purple Stride event in Los Angeles. This event, which took place this year on the Santa Monica Pier, raises money to find a cure for pancreatic cancer. As part of the "Harmony Heals" team, we each walked three miles and raised more than $27,500 to support research into this deadly disease. And we all had a great time doing it!
Verdugo Hills Chorus was honored to host its 17th A Cappella Scholarship Festival (ACSF) on April 22, 2023. It was a day full of excellent music from students representing 11 high schools and 4 middle schools. Each chorus impressed and inspired us--and each went home with cash prizes.
Verdugo Hills Chorus will host the 17th annual A Cappella Scholarship Festival on April 22, 2023 at Glendale High School, John Wayne Performing Arts Center.
Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm. Tickets at door - $5.00
The A Cappella Scholarship Festival was created in 2005 when we received a grant from the John C. Hench Foundation. With each year’s grant, we award cash scholarships to middle-and high school vocal programs in the Los Angeles County area.
