VHC to Host the A Cappella Scholarship Festival!
Music education is so important because it can help students develop creativity, empathy, and social skills. It can also improve their concentration, memory, and learning skills. Beyond that, music can create pure joy! For all those reasons, Verdugo Hills Chorus is delighted to host the A Cappella Scholarship Festival every spring.
The A Cappella Scholarship Festival was created in 2005 when we received a grant from the John C. Hench Foundation. With each year’s grant, we award cash scholarships to high school vocal programs in the Los Angeles County area.
The purpose of the Festival is to…
- Provide cash scholarships.
- Foster a positive relationship between Verdugo Hills Chorus and public and private schools as it relates to vocal/choral music programs.
- Provide performance opportunities to choral groups in our area.
- Foster a positive relationship among music educators in the schools.
- Begin to position Verdugo Hills Chorus as a recognized community-based, educational, outreach program in vocal productions for adult women as well as young female singers.
This year, the Festival will be held on April 12th at the Glendale High School Performing Arts Center.
Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm. Tickets at door – $5.00
Come and catch some of the joy!
